After you find a dog that you’re
interested in, review the description of the dog to make sure that
the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires.
In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives
all of the information that we have about the particular dog. The
picture of the dog does not tell the whole story.
-
Complete the
adoption
application located on the website and submit it to our adoption
coordinator. Please make sure that you give us as much information
about yourself has you can. Make sure to list all animals currently
living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and
rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us
determine if the dog you have chosen is appropriate for your home.
-
Once the application is submitted
you will receive a call or email from a BBRH volunteer who will
begin processing your application. References will be checked, and
you will be notified of the status of your application. If your
application is approved, we may inform you that the dog you chose
isn’t a good fit for you and your family. In that event, we will
work with you to find a better match.
-
Home visits may be required
before any dog leaves our program.
-
Once your application is approved
and you’ve chosen a dog, you will be asked to complete an adoption
agreement. The preceding link is a sample of this agreement. Please
read the agreement carefully before meeting the dog to make sure
that you understand what you will be agreeing to.
-
An adoption fee is requested for
all dogs. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care
and other needs for the dogs while in foster care. All BBRH dogs are
altered, current on vaccinations, and to our knowledge, in good
health before they are adopted out. We are all volunteers and as
such receive no monetary compensation for our work with the dogs.
The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care
of the dogs. The adoption fee is $150 for dogs over 12 months old
and $200 for dogs under 12 months old.

Congratulations! You are on your
way to getting your new dog. We hope that you and your new companion
share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may
wish to give us about your dog at any time.
