Lola is a 2-3 year old beagle mix that came into rescue heartworm positive with her puppies. She had her aggressive heartworm treatment at the beginning of 2014. She is not out of the woods so she need’s checkups every 2 months until she turns up negative. You will need to work with BBRH so they can finish her treatment. She will also need to be spayed as soon as her vet says it’s o.k. to do so.
The first word that comes to mind when I describe Lola is sweetheart. She is so cuddly! She loves being outside and will just lay in the sun until you call her inside. Since she loves the outdoors so much, she is curious and will need a sturdy fence that is at least 4’ high. She gets excited when the leash is around and is great walking with one! It’s very rare to find a beagle that doesn’t pull.
Lola likes to graze with her food, so if you put it out in the morning she will pick throughout the day. She is not fond of the crate so she gets to spend her days lounging around the house and is a good girl about it! She loves to follow around her foster mom, but will pay attention to her foster dad if he has treats. She does great around her beagle sister and 3 year old human boy! Sometimes, if he’s lucky, she will spend the night with him and sleep at the end of his bed. She keeps the monsters away:)
