These bonded, beautiful beagle/basset mixes were picked up as strays in South Carolina and made their way to Omaha because they heard it was the land of the good life, where they never miss a meal and humans are kind!
They are young dogs (estimated age around 2 years old), and kennel well with a treat when you are away from home. At night, they curl right up (in a bed, on a couch, on a dog bed–they aren’t picky!) and don’t get into any trouble. They walk well on a double lead. Training is a work in progress; currently they are learning ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘quiet’, and ‘off’. Like most hounds, they are extremely food motivated. Edie is completely housebroken, and Archie is working on being as awesome as his sister! They are not, however, fond of cats.
To meet them is to adore them. They are sweet, mild mannered, and love to snuggle (they love their people!); they’ll be an amazing addition to your family. They like children and other dogs. When they came into rescue they had heartworms, but as of March 20th they have completed treatment and are heartworm free!
